E.L. MARCRUM, 80 former Crawfordsville resident who lived in  West Milford, W Va died at 9:30 a.m. Thursday enroute to a  Clarksburg, W Va hospital. He was born Sept 13, 1881, in Pulaski  Co KY the son of BA and Mary Nelson Marcrum. He was married to  Elizabeth Haffner April 24, 1925.

Mr. Marcrum was a member of the  West Milford Methodist Church and served as a trustee of the  church. He also was a member of the West Virginia Education  Association. Jackson F & AM Lodge 35 at Good Hope, W Va; West  Milford Lions Club & Harrison Co. Principals Assoc. He was a  past president of the Lions Club & principals organization.  He spent his early life in Crawfordsville and was educated in  Crawfordsville schools. He received his AB degree from Wabash College  and master's from Columbia University and during WWI served in  France with the YMCA. Mr. Marcrum, a retired school principal,  wetnt o W. Va in 1915. He retired in 1954. He taught in Waveland;  Morgantown, W. Va.; Richmond, W. Va. and West Milford. He served  as principal at 3 West Va. schools - Sisterville; Wellsburg and  Jan Lew.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Capt. Robert H.  Marcrum of Darinstradt, Germany and William B. Marcrum of  Cleveland, Ohio; two daughters, Mrs. Eugene (Eleanor) Roberts of  Pittsburgh PA and Mrs. Joe F. (Jean) Moss of Morgantown, W Va;  two sisters, Mrs. TS Banta of Waveland and Mrs. Ida Lowe of  Crawfordsville; 9 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.  Graveside rites were conducted at 3:30 p.m. Sunday at Liberty  Chapel Cem. south of New Richmond with Rev. Fred Dean, pastor of  Waveland Methodist Church in charge. - transcribed by kbz
